SMS / Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

    Program description. The University of Detroit Mercy ("Detroit Mercy," "we," "us," or "our") offers a text messaging program that sends information related to admission, enrollment, events, deadlines, and related university communications to individuals who have opted in.

    Consent to receive messages. By providing your mobile number and selecting "Yes" on our Request for Information form, you agree to receive recurring automated SMS text messages from Detroit Mercy at the mobile number you provided. Consent is not a condition of applying to, enrolling in, or purchasing any goods or services from the University.

    Message frequency. Message frequency varies.

    Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

    Opt out. You can cancel the SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send you a one-time confirmation message, and you will not receive any further SMS messages from this program unless you opt in again.

    Carrier disclaimer. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

    Privacy. Mobile information will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information collected through the SMS program is used solely to operate the program and communicate with you. See our Privacy Policy for details.

    Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. Continued participation in the program after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
